Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—March 3, 2026—The Parkland College men's basketball team advanced in postseason play Tuesday evening, defeating Illinois Central College 94-81 in the Region 24 Quarterfinals.
After a tightly contested first half that saw Parkland trailing 47-44 at the break, the Cobras surged in the second half, outscoring Illinois Central 50-34 to secure the victory, with all five Parkland starters finishing in double figures.
Chris Bush led Parkland with 22 points while adding 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Jaiden Martin followed with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Grant Chamberlain added 17 points and 4 rebounds, knocking down 4 three-pointers.
Nick Harrell and Kodhi McStraw also scored 12 points apiece, rounding out the strong performance by the Parkland starting lineup.
As a team, Parkland shot an efficient 52.5% (31-59) from the field and connected on 9 three-pointers. The Cobras also capitalized at the free throw line, converting 23-of-29 (79.3%) attempts.
With the win, the Cobras improve to 24-7 on the season and move on to the Region 24 Semifinals. As the tournament's No. 3 seed, Parkland will travel to Rend Lake College on March 6 for the semifinal matchup, with tip-off scheduled for 6 PM CST.
