Creve Coeur, Mo -- August 28, 2026 -- The No. 17 Parkland Men's Soccer team dropped their season opener on the road, losing 1-2 at Rock Valley College on Friday night.
The two teams remained scoreless through the first 70 minutes until Rock Valley would score on an Own Goal in the 78th minute followed by an insurance goal in the 85th minute to take a 2-0 lead. Believe Avida responded for the Cobras, scoring in the 87th minute to put Parkland on the board.. Despite the late push, the Cobras would hit the back of the net only once as Rock Valley hung on to take the win.
As a team, the Cobras finished with 13 shots, four on frame while limiting Rock Valley to 7 total shots with five on frame. With the loss, Parkland drops to 0-1 on the season while Rock Valley improves to 1-2.
