Summer Johnson, the redshirt sophomore infielder/outfielder from Oblong, Ill., helped lead her team to a 22-2 record in the month of March. She slashed a .568/.644/1.405 over 24 games that included scoring 43 runs and knocking in 45 baserunners. Her 42 hits included 9 doubles and 17 home runs. The Oblong High School alum was awarded NJCAA DII Softball Player of the Week based on her performances during the week of March 22-28.
 
“Summer is so tough out at the plate,” expressed Co-Head Coach Kristi Paulson. “She finds ways to go deep in counts until she finds her pitch and then crushes it. Her stats speak for themselves.”
 
Johnson is the daughter of Mike and Pam Johnson. Her academic pursuits include Psychology.
