Marcus Latham scored a career high 30 points Wednesday to help lead the #3 Parkland Men's Basketball team to an impressive 87-70 win over Illinois Central College in East Peoria. The win, the Cobras 5th straight, improves the team to (17-2 2-0) while the Cougars saw their own five game winning streak end and they are now (8-9 1-1).  

PC jumped out to an early 17-7 lead and held the margin for most of the half before taking a 40-30 lead into halftime. Another quick start after the break helped the Cobras push the lead to 70-48 before ICC caught fire from behind the arc, eventually closing the PC lead to just ten at 80-70. The Cobras sealed the win by scoring the final seven points of the contest.

Latham had his career game by shooting 12-22 from the field including 4-7 from three-point range and made both of his free throws.  The sophomore also grabbed seven rebounds in the contest. Quin Nottingham came off the bench at add 14 points and handed out 5 assists while Dirk Jordan had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.  Myles Simmons also finished in double figures with 11 points while Isaiah Curry just missed a double-double as he added 8 points to go along with a game high 13 rebounds. Trey Owens led ICC with 16 points and 10 boards.  PC shot 47% for the game to just 34% for ICC. PC also made 14-17 at the line and dominated the glass by out rebounding the Cougars 50-34.

The Cobras are back on the road on Saturday at 3:00 when they will travel west to Quincy to take on John Wood (13-9 1-1).
