DANVILLE, Ill. – The defending national champion Parkland College golf team stayed hot on Monday afternoon, winning their 2
nd tournament of the year with a sixteen-stroke victory in the Danville Invitational at the par-71 Danville Country Club. The Cobras finished with a score of +3 in the one-day six-team invitational.

Individually,
Corey Neville won the invitational and led the way with a 4-under 138, starting the afternoon with a 5-under first round, the lowest round recorded on Monday.
Joel Petersson turned in another impressive performance, going two-over and finishing T4 with teammate
Dain Richie.
Kegan Niles and
Reece Tennison participated as individuals and went 3-over and 4-over respectfully, good enough for T6 and T8.

The Cobras began the 2021-22 season with a No. 2 ranking in the Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA DII Coaches Poll before moving up to the top spot after their win at the Heartland Invite.

th for the Weibring Fall Classic hosted by Illinois Valley Community College.
