OLD HICKORY, Tenn. —April 7, 2026—The No. 27 Parkland College men's golf team battled against top-tier competition at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate, hosted by Tennessee State University, finishing 8th overall out of 11 teams with a three-round score of 885.
Facing a field made up primarily of NCAA Division I programs, the Cobras were one of just two NJCAA teams in the tournament, alongside John A. Logan College. The event provided a significant test for Parkland as it matched up against some of the highest levels of collegiate competition.
Leading the way for the Cobras was Peter Slot, currently ranked No. 14 in the NJCAA, who delivered an impressive performance to finish 8th overall out of nearly 80 golfers.
Cal Johnson tied for 33rd, while Ian VanEtten finished tied for 42nd. Leif Olson (No. 111 NJCAA) and Will Seman (No. 140 NJCAA) each tied for 47th, and Oscar Jarl rounded out the lineup in a tie for 66th place.
The Cobras will look to build on the experience gained against Division I competition as they continue their spring season.
Up next, Parkland will travel to Highland, Illinois on April 20 for the Highland Spring Invite, hosted by Highland Community College.
