ROCKFORD, Ill. —April 20, 2026—The Parkland College men's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Highland Spring Invite, hosted by Highland Community College, finishing 2nd overall out of 13 teams, narrowly missing the top spot by just one stroke.
The Cobras placed three golfers inside the top 10, led by Oscar Jarl, who finished 5th overall while competing as an individual. Leif Olson followed closely, tying for 6th place, and Peter Slot added another top-10 finish in 8th place.
Cal Johnson placed 18th, while Will Seman tied for 19th to round out Parkland's scoring effort. Ian VanEtten finished tied for 47th.
Head Coach Nick Berger praised the team's effort, saying, "Strong performance from Oscar playing as an Individual this tournament. Very proud of his playing. Leif made a great second round performance. The guys battled all the way down the stretch."
The Cobras continue to build momentum as they push deeper into the spring season.
Up next, the Cobras will prepare for the NJCAA Region 24 Championship Tournament, April 27-28 in Bloomington, Illinois.
