Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Parkland College men's basketball team won their third straight game on Sunday, November 4th, defeating Missouri State University-West Plains, 81-64. The Cobras win their first neutral site game of the season, taking down the Grizzlies at the St. Louis Community College Classic. Sophomore

Don Coats III (10 points, 10 rebounds) recorded his third career double-double in the win.

"I'm really proud of our effort today on both sides of the ball," Parkland head coach John Bowler said after his teams' third win in a row. "This was a complete team win."

"West Plains is a tough, talented opponent who's played a very hard schedule up until this point," Bowler continued. "For us to play this well against a quality opponent shows the potential we've talked about all year. I'm happy our team continues to grow in the right direction."

The Cobras (3-5) battled back and forth with the Grizzlies (4-8) early in the game, as the two teams traded the lead, but Parkland's defense clamped down on MSU-West Plains to close the half, and the Cobras went into halftime ahead 42-29. Parkland started the second half strong and extended its lead to over 20 points with just under 11 minutes to play. Parkland's defense kept the Grizzlies at bay, forcing 17 turnovers while the offense shot 48% (28-58) from the field, and the Cobras cruised to their third straight win, 81-62, on Sunday afternoon. Daniel Reed led the way, scoring 26 points on 10-14 (71%) from the field and 6-9 (66%) from beyond the arc.
