Box Score CANTON, Ill. – The Parkland men's basketball team won their third straight game on Wednesday night, defeating Spoon River College 83-70. The Cobras remained in first place of the MWAC with the win, improving to 6-1 in the conference.
Josh Rivers (11 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks) had another stat-stuffing night as the Cobras completed the season sweep over the Snappers.

The Cobras (15-6) (6-1) quickly got out to a 15-5 lead before coughing up turnovers allowed the Snappers (9-16) (2-6) to answer with a run of their own. Parkland was able to stretch the lead out to 12 in the first half, but after a Spoon River timeout and two more costly turnovers, the Cobras' lead was cut to eight points, and they went into halftime with a 40-32 lead. The Snappers continued to climb their way back into the game at the start of the second half, getting the Cobras' lead down to 44-40, but
A'Kieon Gill would prove to be too tough tonight. The sophomore led the way with 26 points, going 6-8 from behind the arc as the Cobras took control late in the game in the 83-70 win.
