Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead at home against Eureka College JV on Sunday, January 15th, and the Cobras cruised to a 123-34 victory. Parkland hit a season-high 12 three-pointers in the 89-point win, the Cobras' largest margin of victory in over 10 years. The Parkland Freshmen led the way, as Tye Banks led all scorers with 23 points, Brylan Phillips provided a season-high 12 assists, and Jabryn Anderson (14 points, 11 rebounds) recorded the first double-double of his college career. The Cobras have now won six straight home games heading into conference play.
 
"I am proud of our guys bouncing back after letting one slip away last game," head coach John Bowler said after the game. "I love that they came ready to play from the tip. We need to carry that intensity into every game we play this season."
 
The Cobras (8-6) exploded out of the gate, opening the game with an 8-0 run, and with 10:45 remaining in the first half, Parkland led Eureka JV 34-7. The Red Devils struggled to contain Springfield native Tye Banks, as the freshman guard dropped 21 points in the first half, and the Cobras went into halftime with a 58-14 lead. Parkland kept its foot on the gas in the second half, quickly extending the lead to 77-21 with 13:20 to go. The Cobra defense caused problems for the Red Devils all afternoon, forcing 22 turnovers and holding Eureka to just 22% shooting from the field. The Cobras controlled the pace in the final 11 minutes of the game, outscoring the Red Devils 36-8, on their way to the 123-34 win.
