No. 1 Cobras Fall to No. 9 Macomb in Second Round of SC4 Tip Off Tournament

Parkland sees strong effort from sophomore core

PORT HURON, Mich.—November 21, 2025— The No. 1 Parkland College men's basketball team dropped its first game of the season on Friday afternoon, falling 75–64 to No. 9 Macomb Community College on the second day of the SC4 Thumbcoast Tip Off Tournament. Despite key contributions from several returning sophomores, the Cobras were unable to overcome offensive inconsistency and missed opportunities on both ends of the floor.

Sophomore guard Jaiden Martin led all scorers with 28 points in just 29 minutes, continuing his dominant tournament performance. Grant Chamberlain added 17 points and 6 rebounds, while Leirre Collier provided 10 points and 4 assists, giving Parkland strong production from its veteran core.

Head coach John Bowler credited Macomb's execution but emphasized the urgency for improvement:

"Credit goes to Macomb for getting the win. With that being said, we had several guys not ready for this moment. We have to do a much better job on executing on both ends. We have to understand this quickly. No time to waste. We need to get ready for tomorrow."

The Cobras (now 6–1) will look to rebound in the final day of tournament action as they face the host school, St. Clair County Community College (SC4) on Saturday, November 22, at 4 PM EST.
