CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—November 2, 2025— The No. 2 Parkland College Men's Basketball team opened the season in statement fashion Sunday afternoon, routing St. Mary-of-the-Woods JV, 114–59. The Cobras controlled the game from the tip, outscoring the Pomeroys 61–28 in the first half and never looking back.

Led by Jaiden Martin's 17 points on 6-for-10 shooting, Parkland showcased its depth with six players scoring in double figures. The Cobras shot an efficient 56.3% from the field (45-80), including 40% from three-point range (16-40), while holding their opponent just under 60 points.

Grant Chamberlain filled the stat sheet with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Matt Moore provided a spark off the bench, finishing with 16 points and 9 rebounds in 16 minutes. Nick Harrell (11 points), Marc Antonie Loemba (10 points), and Champaign native Chris Bush (10 points) rounded out the list of double-digit scorers.

Ball movement was key to the win, and guard Jiovanny Garcia made his presence felt as a facilitator, finishing with a game-high 6 assists off the bench.

With the victory, the Cobras open the season 1–0 and will now turn their attention to their first road test. Up next, Parkland will travel to Piqua, Ohio, on November 5, to face Edison State Community College.
