BELLEVILLE, Ill. — September 9, 2025 — Parkland College men's soccer team came up short on the road Tuesday afternoon, dropping a 3–1 decision to Southwestern Illinois College.
The host Blue Storm jumped out to a 2–0 halftime lead, capitalizing on early opportunities while the Cobras struggled to find their rhythm. Parkland battled back in the second half, with Santiago Samame finding the back of the net off an assist from Gustavo Poli to cut the deficit to 2–1.
Despite generating 10 total shots, including four on frame, the Cobras couldn't complete the comeback.
With the loss, Parkland moves to 3–2–0 on the season. The Cobras will look to regroup as they travel and prepare for a tough stretch of matches against No. 6 Western Iowa Tech College and No. 2 Northeast Community College on September 13th and September 14th, respectively.
