The Parkland Softball team ended Heartland's seven game winning streak while stopping a three game losing streak of their own, as they split a doubleheader at the Corn Crib in Normal. Heartland scored twice in the top of the 1st inning as they took advantage of three walks and a base hit.  Parkland came right back with a solo shot over the left field fence by lead-off hitter Kyliegh Basham to cut the margin to one but  the Hawks would answer back in the top of the 2ndwith a solo run of their own. With the score 3-1 HCC in the bottom of the 5th, Parkland scored three runs on a double by Brigette Belt, an RBI single from Lauren Spelich, an RBI single off the bat of Basham, who promptly stole 2nd and was driven in by an Ivy Nichols double.  PC added one more run in the 6th on two Heartland errors and a run scoring single from Belt.

Leading 5-3 in the 7th, PC gave up four runs to the Hawks as they scored via three hits and two more PC walks. Now down a pair of runs, it was the Cobras turn to rally. Spelich lead off with a single and Basham walked.  Nichols reached on an error to load the bases to set the stage for Shelby Youngblood. She drove a ball to the fence in right/center field scoring all three runs giving the Cobras the walk-off win. The rally made a winner of Morgan Parrish who went the distance for PC.
