The Parkland College Softball team continued to struggle to score runs as they lost 2-0 and 6-3 to M-WAC foe Lewis and Clark on Tuesday. The Cobras have now lost 6 straight and 9 of 10, and have scored two runs or less in 7 of those losses. Parkland falls to (15-22 7-11) after the defeats while the Blazers improve to (10-19 5-13). PC will return to action on Thursday when they travel to John Wood for another M-WAC doubleheader.
Game 1:
For the fourth time during their losing skid, the Cobras were shutout. PC was held to just five hits, two each by
Ivy Nichols and
Makenzie Ruppert. The game remained scoreless until the 5th when Lewis and Clark would score the only two runs of the contest. With two outs and a runner at third, the Blazers would get back to back hits to plate their two runs. PC would bring the tying run to the plate in both the 6th and 7th innings but could not get the key hit.

Game 2:
Lewis and Clark would jump out to a 3-0 lead after two innings before the Cobras would get on the board in the 3rd. With two outs
Kyliegh Basham singled,
Ivy Nichols walked, and
Shelby Youngblood followed with a two-run double to cut the lead to one. The Blazers would answer back with three straight hits to score a run in the bottom of the 3rd and added two more in the 5th to take a 6-2 lead. PC would score a run in the 6th as Youngblood would score on a
Brigette Belt sacrifice fly. Youngblood had three of the Cobras five hits in the defeat.
