The Cobras rebounded with a 3-2 win in the finale after losing a heartbreaking 9-8 decision to the Hawks in the opener. The two teams split their four game series this season. Parkland now stands (18-25 10-12) while Heartland is (26-9 16-4). Parkland will host Lincoln College in a 1:00 doubleheader on Sunday.
Game 1:
The game could not have started any better for PC as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead after only four batters as
Makayla Reedy cracked a grand slam home run, her team high 4th of the season.
Kyliegh Basham had started the inning with a single,
Ivy Nichols walked, and
Shelby Youngblood singled to load the basis for Reedy. PC would extend their lead to 5-0 in the 4th as
Brigette Belt hit a solo shot, her 3rd of the year. The Hawks would get back into the contest as they scored three times in the 4th and another in the 5th to cut the Cobra lead to 5-4. PC would answer back with a three spot in the 6th as PC used three hits, two Heartland errors, and a walk to score the three runs. In the bottom of the inning, Heartland would score three unearned runs, all with two out, to get back to within a run. After PC went down 1-2-3 in the top of the 7th, the Hawks rallied to score twice and pick up the come from behind win. PC banged out 10 hits in the loss as Youngblood had three, while Basham, Nichols, and Belt each had two.

Game 2:
Once again PC would jump out early as this time they grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 2nd. Belt and
Lauren Block started the inning with singles and after a pop-out,
Bre Riemenschneider drove home a run with a single and Madyson Butkaukas followed with an RBI of her own. The Cobras added another run in the 4th, as Basham delivered an important two-out RBI double. On the rubber
Tori Witruk was mowing the Heartland hitters down as she returned the nine hitters of the game before giving up a lead-off single in the 4th. Heartland would get three hits in that inning and scored pair of runs to cut the lead to one.
PC would get their first two runners on in the 5th and 6th innings but were unable to add any insurance runs. A streak of wildness by Witruk almost allowed Heartland to steal the victory. Witruk walked the first two hitters in the 6th before getting an infield ground out. Another walk loaded the bases but she struck out the next hitter and got a force out at 3rd to end the threat. She retired the side in order in the 7th to seal the win. Belt had three more hits for PC while Basham, Block, and Riemenschneider each had two.
