Game 1: Parkland 10, Frontier 2 (6 inn.)
Parkland tied the game in the third, 2-2, and then busted the game open with four-run fifth and sixth innings to run-rule Frontier behind a five-RBI game from right fielder
Emma Newton. Starting pitcher
Tori Witruk picked up the win with six innings while allowing zero earned runs.
Setting a season-high with five runs batted in,
Emma Newton plated five of the team's first six runs and delivered the back-breaking blow in the fifth with a three-run home run. The third home run for Newton in the last four games, Newton also boasts 11 of her 14 team-leading RBI in that span.
Three other Cobras also recorded two-hit games, as
Camryn Skundberg,
Bella Coffey and
Bri Poehler combined with Newton for eight of the team's 10 hits.
Making her third start of the season,

Newton supplied the first two runs of the game, as the freshman slugger doubled in a run in the top of the first, and then tied the game, 2-2, with a sac fly in the third inning.
With Witruk and the Parkland defense settling in to hold Frontier scoreless in the third and forth innings, the Parkland bats came alive in the fifth inning to pull away. Beckemeyer got things started with a one-out triple, and then scored by beating the tag at the plate on a RBI sacrifice bunt by
Bri Poehler. A double by
Camryn Skundberg put two runners in scoring position, setting up Newton's three-run homer to centerfield.

The Parkland offense picked up where they left off to end game one with three hits in the bottom of the first to score game two's first run. After Beckemeyer and Skundberg both singled and Newton reached on an error,
Bella Coffey singled home Beckemyer. Skundberg also tried to score on the play, but was thrown out at the plate.
Maddie Quattro and
