Box Score 2 ROBINSON, Ill. – No. 1 Parkland volleyball extended its winning to 10 straight matches on Sunday with back-to-back sweeps against Frontier (25-9, 25-14, 25-11) and Lincoln Trail (25-14, 25-15, 25-14). With the pair of victories, the Cobras are now 27-1 on the season.
Facing Frontier to begin the day,
Amanda Greening posted a blistering .900 hitting percentage with nine kills on 10 swings to lead the attack. Bolstering the attack was
Ryleigh Warfel (seven kills) and Reanne Allen (five kills) off of 24 assists from setter
Rachel Verdun.
Paige Yoder showed her versatility with four kills, four blocks and three aces, while
Maranda Day and
Gabby Wessels combined for five more points off serves.
The dominance continued in the second match, as Parkland made just four errors on 77 attempts against Lincoln Trail for a .558 hitting percentage with 47 kills. A double-double from
Ryleigh Warfel (13 kills, 10 digs) led the way, while
Abigail Burnett also reached double figures with 10 kills.
Amanda Greening and
Paige Yoder added in seven kills each, while Summer Smith (20 assists) and
Rachel Verdun (18 assists) guided the offense. Defensively,
Hannah Benson's four blocks led the team while
Gabby Wessels supported with 13 digs.
