Box Score QUINCY, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team tied the John Wood Community College Blazers 2-2 on Saturday in Quincy thanks to two late goals from
Izzy Fritz and
Elise Hertling. The Cobras were without three players going into the game due to illness, but they were still able to pull out the result despite losing two more due to injury during the game.

"We struggled early first half but started connecting late." Head coach
Dan Vogelsang said in a statement after the game. "We came out in the second half determined to score and that's what this team did."

The Cobras (3-9-1) fell behind about halfway through the first half. The Blazers (4-6-2)
scored again in the 33
rd minute to make the score 2-2 at the half. Coach Vogelsang needed his players to step up in the absence of the sick athletes and they came out of the half looking much better. The Cobras were finally able to break through in the 63
rd minute, when
Izzy Fritz finished off a service from
Caris White, and they leveled the game in the 82
nd minute thanks to Freshmen
Elise Hertling. The two teams played two overtime periods after full time but neither team were able to come away with the victory. Goalkeeper Becky Painter had 10 saves in the draw
