Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 14 Parkland College women's soccer team came up short on Saturday, October 15th as the Cobras lost 5-2 against Wabash Valley College in the team's last home game of the 2022 season. Freshman
Lauren Schnepper found the back of the net in the first half and the team's leading scorer,
Faith Niebrugge, scored in the second but it wasn't enough against the Division I side. The Cobras finish the 2022 regular season with a 5-4 home record.

"We had a good gameplan today that covered for our injuries and players that were sick," head coach
Dan Vogelsang revealed after the game. "It was nice to see that we continued to fight to get the late goal."

The Cobras (8-7) came into the game on Saturday missing players due to injuries and sickness, but Parkland was still able to take an early lead on
Lauren Schnepper's eighth goal of the season in the 22nd minute. The Warriors (4-7-2) managed to equalize 16 minutes later, and the Cobras suffered another key injury late in the first half as the two teams remained all tied up going into halftime. It was all Wabash Valley in the second half as the Warriors took the lead in the 50th minute and added to their lead in the 63rd, 70th and 73rd. Parkland never gave up, however, as Freshman
Faith Niebrugge netted her 23rd goal of the season with just one second remaining in the Cobras' 5-2 loss on Sophomore Day.
