Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team lost two games to Spoon River College in an M-WAC conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Snappers in both games by scores of 4-3 and 6-5, respectively. The Cobras outhit the Snappers 20-12 over the course of the two games, but Parkland could not capitalize, losing both in heartbreaking fashion.
Anna Walker led the Cobras' offense with six total bases, all coming in the second game of the day.

Up next, the Cobras will host another conference opponent on Wednesday, April 20th when Lewis & Clark comes to Champaign for a doubleheader. First pitch against the Trailblazers is scheduled for 2:00 PM.

Game 1: Spoon River College 4, Parkland College 3

The Cobras (24-17) (10-4) took a two-run lead in the bottom of the 1st over the Snappers (32-15) (15-3) before
Lizzy Davis stole home plate on a passed ball in the 3rd to give Parkland a 3-0 lead. The Cobras went quiet after that, however, as the Snappers tied the game in the top of the 5th and took the lead on an error in the 7th. Parkland got the tying run on base, but the Cobras couldn't come back, falling short 4-3 in game one.

Chayse Ramey (7.0 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 9 K) earned the loss despite a strong outing, striking out nine over seven innings. Offensively,
Taylor Dugger (3-3, RBI, R) had no trouble getting on base while
Lizzy Davis (2-3, 2 R, BB) lead the team in runs.

Game 2: Spoon River College 6, Parkland College 5

Parkland trailed early in game two before a
Lizzy Davis sacrifice fly in the 2nd tied it up at 2-2. The Cobras took a 4-2 lead in the 3rd when
Reagan Cheely scored on an error and held onto that lead through the 5th, but in the top of the 6th inning, Spoon River's Addy Williams hit a three-run home run that proved to be insurmountable as the Cobras lost 6-5 in game two.

Sophomore
Anna Walker (3-4, RBI, R) doubled and tripled in the loss as she and
Kaylee Warren (3-4, SB) each tallied three hits.
Lizzy Davis (0-3, RBI),
Reagan Cheely (1-4, RBI, R),
Zoey Clark (2-4, RBI) and Walker each drove in a run for the Cobras.

Emily Senjan (4-2) made her seventh start for Parkland on Saturday. Senjan allowed eight hits and six runs over six innings of work, striking out three.
Chayse Ramey relieved Senjan in the 7th.
