Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team defeated Lewis & Clark Community College twice on Wednesday afternoon, taking down the Trailblazers in both games by scores of 2-0 and 12-5, respectively.
Chayse Ramey shut down Lewis & Clark in the first game, throwing a complete game shutout, and
Reagan Cheely drove in five runs over the two games to lead the Cobras.

Up next, the Cobras welcomes Mineral Area College to Champaign on Thursday, April 21st for a doubleheader. First pitch against the Cardinals is scheduled for 2:00 PM.

Game 1: Parkland College 2, Lewis & Clark Community College 0

The Cobras (26-17) (12-4) got on the board first when, in the bottom of the 2nd, Regan Cheely launched the first pitch she saw over the left field wall to give the Cobras the early lead over the Trailblazers (9-20) (1-17). Cheely wasn't done, however, lining an RBI single into center field in her next at bat, making the score 2-0 in the 3rd. The Cobras defense took it from there and Parkland earned the 2-0 win.

Chayse Ramey (7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 7 K) allowed just two hits while striking out seven in her 22nd start this season. The complete game shutout brings her team-leading ERA this season down to 1.97. Offensively,
Reagan Cheely (2-3, 2 RBI, R) drove in both of Parkland's runs and
Taylor Dugger (1-3, 2B, R) doubled in the 3rd.

Game 2: Parkland College 12, Lewis & Clark Community College 5

Parkland again took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning, this time thanks to a
Madison Vogel sac fly. The Cobras drove in three more runs in the 3rd, but this time the Trailblazers responded, scoring five runs in the top of the 4th to take a 5-4 lead. Parkland didn't stay down long, retaking the lead in the bottom of the frame on a
Lizzy Davis 3-run home run. The Cobras drove in two more runs in the inning, leading 9-5 going into the 5th. Parkland blanked Lewis & Clark the rest of the way and the Cobras completed the season series sweep with a 12-5 win.

At the plate,
Lizzy Davis (4-4, 3 RBI, 2 R, SB) was on fire in game two, matching
Reagan Cheely (3-4, 3 RBI, R) with three RBI. Cheely,
Madison Vogel (1-3, 2 RBI) and
Delaney Melton (1-3, RBI, 2 R) each hit an RBI single in the 6th and
Anna Walker (2-3, RBI, 3 R, BB, SB) led the Cobras in scoring.

Emily Senjan (3.2 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 5 K) made the start for Parkland, allowing just one earned run on five hits in just over three innings of work.
Jaidi Davis (6-6) relived Senjan with two outs in the 4th and earned the win for the Cobras. Davis struck out five batters, allowing four hits and zero runs in her 18th appearance of the season.
