Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team defeated Heartland Community College in both games of a conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon, taking down the Hawks 2-0 and 5-4, respectively. The Cobras picked up a four-hit shutout performance from sophomore
Chayse Ramey in game one and Parkland won their second game in walk-off fashion in as many days in game two, as a
Lauren Kavanagh sac fly drove in the winning run, giving the Cobras their sixth straight win.

Up next, the Cobras will hit the road for an eight-game road trip, starting with Danville Area Community College on Saturday, April 23rd. First pitch against the Jaguars will be at 1:00 PM.

The Cobras (30-17) got on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning when freshmen
Jaden Corley sent a pinch-hit RBI single into right field, putting Parkland up 1-0 against the Hawks (11-17) (7-11). Parkland drove in another run in the bottom of the 6th, this time coming on a
Kaylee Warren sac fly, and the Cobras took game one 2-0.

Emily Senjan scored the runs for the Cobras and
Chayse Ramey (7.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 6 K) picked up her 17th win of the season with another complete game shutout.

Game 2: Parkland College 5, Heartland Community College 4

Parkland trailed 1-0 in the 1st inning of game two, but the Cobras drove in two runs in the 2nd to take a 2-1 lead. The Hawks responded in the 3rd, walking in a run to tie the game before taking a 3-2 lead on a sac fly later in the inning. Heartland Community College extended its lead on an RBI single in the top of the 6th, but Parkland quickly answered with an RBI double in the bottom of the frame, cutting the Hawks' lead to 4-3. Still trailing by one in the bottom of the 7th, sophomore
Taylor Dugger launched a solo home run over the left field wall to tie it at 4-4 and eventually send the game into extra innings. Three quick outs in the top of the 8th gave the Cobras a chance and, after a one-out
Kendyl Ring triple, Parkland picked up the 5-4 win in the 8th thanks to
Lauren Kavanagh's walk-off RBI sac fly to right field.

Kendyl Ring (2-4, 3B, RBI, 2 R, SB) each scored twice and tied for the team lead in hits with designated hitter

Taylor Dugger (1-4, HR, RBI, R) picked a great time to hit her first home run of the season and
Casy Mandrell (1-4) doubled in the win.

Jaidi Davis (7-6) made the start for Parkland, allowing one earned run and one hit in her one inning of work for the Cobras.
Emily Senjan (3.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H) relieved Davis in the second before
Chayse Ramey (18-8) finished the game out, earning the win. Ramey struck out three and allowed just one earned run on five hits over four innings of work.
