Box Score 2 DANVILLE, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team traveled to Danville for a doubleheader against Danville Area Community College on Saturday, losing the first game 6-5 before winning the second 3-2. At the plate, the Cobras were led by
Lizzy Davis' four RBIs on Saturday while
Chayse Ramey struck out six batters over the course of the two games.Â

Up next, the Cobras will travel to Rockford, Illinois for a doubleheader with Rock Valley College on Monday, April 25th. First pitch against the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 2:00 PM.Â

Game 1: Danville Area Community College 6, Parkland College 5Â

The Cobras (31-18) (15-5) got things going in the 2nd when
Lizzy Davis hit an RBI single to give Parkland a 1-0 lead. The Jaguars (31-11) (14-6) drove in three in the bottom of the 3rd, but the Cobras tied the game at 3-3 on a
Lauren Kavanagh two-run home run in the 4th. DACC retook the lead after scoring twice in the bottom of the frame before Parkland tied the game again in the 5th, this time on a
Lizzy Davis 2-RBI single. The Cobras loaded the bases in the 6th but couldn't take the lead and the Jaguars took advantage of the missed opportunity by scoring in the 6th. The Cobras couldn't get a runner across home plate in the 7th and Parkland fell short 6-5 in game one.Â

Chayse Ramey (18-9) was credited with the loss for Parkland. Ramey allowed six hits and six runs over six innings, striking out five. Offensively,
Lizzy Davis (3-5, 3 RBI, SB) led the team in hits and RBIs as she and
Lauren Kavanagh (1-2, HR, 2 RBI, R, 2 BB) drove in all five runs for the Cobras.Â

Game 2: Parkland College 3, Danville Area Community College 2Â

The Cobras struck first again in game two, scoring on an error in the 1st to take a 1-0 lead. Both teams were strong in the circle on Saturday afternoon as the scoreboard stayed put until the 5th when Parkland extended their lead to 3-0. The Jaguars kept things interesting late, scoring in the bottom of the 6th and 7th but it was not enough as the Cobras win 3-2 in the later game.Â

Emily Senjan (5-2) earned the win for the Cobras, allowing two hits and zero runs over four innings.
Chayse Ramey (3.0 IP, 2 ER, 4 H) came out of the bullpen in the 5th to finish the game off. Offensively, Parkland outhit DACC 8-6, led by
Anna Walker (2-4, R, 2B, SB),
Taylor Dugger (2-4) and
Kendyl Ring (2-3, R).
Lizzy Davis (1-4, RBI) stayed locked in, driving in one in the Cobras' win.Â
