Box Score 2 EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team took on Illinois Central College on the road in a doubleheader on Wednesday evening, winning one and losing one. The Cobras defeated the Cougars 8-2 before being held scoreless in a 5-0 loss.
Chayse Ramey picked up the win on the mound in the early game, giving Parkland its 32nd conference win of the season.

Up next, the Cobras will head to Normal for a matchup against Heartland Community College on Thursday, April 28th for the final road games of their regular season. First pitch against the Hawks will be at 12:00 PM.

Game 1: Parkland College 8, Illinois Central College 2

The Cobras (32-19) led 2-0 after scoring in each of the first two innings before breaking the game open with a five-run 4th. The Cougars (22-14) got a run back in the bottom of the 4th and they drove in another in the 5th to cut the Cobras' lead to 7-2, but Parkland's offense wasn't done.
Casy Mandrell launched her 7th home run of the season in the top of the 6th and the Cobras picked up the 8-2 win in game one.

Chayse Ramey (19-9) earned the win on Wednesday. Ramey allowed five hits and just two runs over seven innings, striking out nine. At the plate,
Casy Mandrell (1-4, HR, RBI) led the Cobras in total bases and
Delaney Melton (2-4, 2 RBI) led the team in RBIs.

Game 2: Illinois Central College 5, Parkland College 0

Parkland fell behind 4-0 in the first inning and was never able to cut into the deficit. The Cobras got runners on base in the later innings, but the team tallied just five hits in the 5-0 loss to the Cougars in game two.

Emily Senjan (5-3) made the start for Parkland. Senjan allowed three hits and four earned runs in the loss.
Chayse Ramey relieved Senjan with two outs in the 4th, closing out the game with three strikeouts and one earned run. Outfielder
Lizzy Davis (2-3) led the team offensively with two hits.
