Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team defeated Lincoln Land Community College in both games of the Cobras' final doubleheader of the regular season. The Cobras took down the Loggers 5-2 and 6-2 in Champaign on a cloudy Friday afternoon, finishing the regular season with four straight wins and an overall record of 36-19 (19-5). Parkland out outhit Lincoln Land 17-7 on Friday as sophomore shortstop
Anna Walker led the Cobras with three RBI on the day and
Chayse Ramey picked up her 21st win of the season.

Up next, the Cobras will have some time off before the NJCAA DII Central District Championship Tournament begins on May 14th. The tournament's location is still TBD.

Game 1: Parkland College 5, Lincoln Land Community College 2

The Cobras (36-19) (19-5) got on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the 1st, but the Loggers (11-27) (10-12) were able to tie that game at 2-2 in the fourth. Parkland had an answer in the 5th, scoring two runs on a fielder's choice to retake the lead. Redshirt sophomore
Lauren Kavanagh drove in an insurance run with an RBI triple in the 6th and the Cobras rolled in a 5-2 win.

Chayse Ramey (21-9) earned her final win of the regular season, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out nine over seven innings of work. Ramey's 21 wins and 18 complete games both rank 2nd nationally.

Taylor Dugger (1-3, 2 R, SB) led the team in runs.
Lauren Kavanagh (2-3, 3B, RBI) led the Cobras in total bases with four.

Game 2: Parkland College 6, Lincoln Land Community College 2

Neither team could get on the board early, as the two remained locked at zero after the 3rd inning. The Loggers hit a two-run home run in the 4th, but the Cobras got one back in the bottom half to make the score 2-1. Parkland tied the game on a
Lauren Kavanagh single in the 5th before taking a 5-2 lead on an
Anna Walker three-run home run, her 11th of the season. The Cobras got another run in the 6th when Kavanagh scored on a passed ball and Parkland closed out their regular season with the 6-2 victory.

Emily Senjan (7-3) earned the win, going five and a third innings, allowing just two runs on two hits while striking out four.
Chayse Ramey (1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER) relieved Senjan in the win. Offensively, the Cobras totaled 11 hits, including an
Anna Walker (2-3, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R) home run and a
Zoey Clark (1-3, RBI) triple, as Walker,
Delaney Melton (2-3, R) and
Taylor Dugger (2-4, R) all finished the day with multiple hits.
