Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team hosted Danville Area Community College in their first home conference series of the 2022 season and the Cobras split the doubleheader, winning the first game 7-2 and losing the second by the same score.
Casy Mandrell led the way for the Cobras offensively as the sophomore drove in four runs over the course of the two games. Â

Up next, the Cobras will head to Springfield for a doubleheader against Lincoln Land Community College on Monday, April 4
th. First pitch against the Loggers is scheduled for 2:00 PM. Â

The Cobras (19-14) quickly got out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning on a walk and hit by pitch.
Casy Mandrell's two-out double in the 3rd drove in two runs and the Cobras led 4-0. The Jaguars (21-7) scored twice in the top of the 6th inning to cut the Cobras' lead to 4-2, but a
Casy Mandrell home run and
Zoey Clark's two-RBI single gave Parkland a comfortable 7-2 lead going into the final inning.
Chayse Ramey (10-7) finished her complete game, and the Cobras won the first game by a score of 7-2.Â

Parkland jumped out to an early one-run lead in the bottom of the 1st when
Anna Walker drove in
Kendyl Ring on an RBI single to right field. DACC didn't stay down for long, however, as a three-run home run in the top of the 3rd gave the Jaguars the lead. The Cobras scored in the bottom of the frame but still trailed 3-2 going into the 4th inning. DACC scored twice in the 4th and once in the 5th and Parkland couldn't fight back, as the Cobras fell 7-2 in the second game on Sunday.Â

Jaidi Davis (4.0 IP, 5 ER, 5 H) got the start for Parkland in her 14th appearance of 2022, facing 23 batters and allowing five hits for the Cobras in the loss.
Emily Senjan (3.0 IP, 1 ER, 1 H) relieved Davis on Sunday afternoon, allowing just one hit over three innings.Â

Kendyl Ring (2-4, 2 R) and
Anna Walker (1-3, RBI) started the game off with two hits in the Cobras' first two at-bats, but the offense stayed quiet for most of the rest of the day.
Zoey Clark (1-3, RBI) drove in a run in the bottom of the third, but Parkland was held without a hit from that point on in the loss.Â
