Box Score DANVILLE, Ill. – The Parkland College Softball team finished in third place at the Region 24 Championship Tournament on Monday, losing to Danville Area Community College 1-0 on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 7th inning. The 2022 M-WAC Conference Co-Champion Parkland Cobras finish the season with a 39-21 record. Â

"Obviously today didn't end how we wanted but one game does not define a team," co-head coach
Dan Paulson said after the game. "This group is extremely special to us. They preserved despite the many challenges this world has thrown at them, and we are proud of them."Â

The Cobras (39-21) got a runner on base in five innings, but the team just could not get a run across on the Jaguars (40-12) as Parkland ended the game with just two hits by
Reagan Cheely (1-3) and
Zoey Clark (1-1, 2 BB). Co-Region Player of the Year
Chayse Ramey (23-11) dealt with traffic on the bases all afternoon in her 43rd appearance of the season, but she allowed just the one run in the 7th on eight hits, striking out four batters in the loss.Â

Dan Paulson stated. "Their commitment to excellence and the dedication to our program has been second to none. In two years' time, this group won 92 games and two M-WAC Conference Championships all while taking care of their work in the classroom."
