Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The No. 4 ranked Parkland College Softball team continued its strong start to conference play at Lincoln Land Community College on Thursday, March 30th, winning both games of the doubleheader by scores of 9-0 and 7-0. The Cobras (26-8) (4-0) outhit the Loggers (6-15) (0-6) by 17, as the team has now held their opponents scoreless for 27 straight innings dating back to Sunday, March 26th. Bri Roloff led Parkland with six hits and seven RBI, while pitchers
Karley Yergler (12-6) and
Ryleigh Owens (5-1) each earned wins in Springfield. Parkland has now won nine straight games.
Up next, Parkland will travel to Danville Area Community College on Sunday, April 2nd, for two games against the Jaguars (14-11) (2-0). First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Sunday.

In the top of the 1st inning, Parkland took the lead on a
Kami Pearson (1-2, 2B, RBI, R) sacrifice fly, scoring
Ryleigh Owens (1-2, 3B, RBI, 2 R, BB), and
Bri Roloff followed that up with an RBI double, later scoring on a wild pitch to give the Cobras an early 3-0 lead. The sophomore wasn't finished, lining a 2-RBI double into center field in the top of the 2nd to put Parkland up 6-0, and Roloff (3-3, HR, 3B, 2 2B, 5 RBI, 2 R) lifted a 2-run home run over the left field fence in the 4th inning for her fifth RBI of the game. The Loggers managed to get two runners on base in the bottom of the 4th, but the Cobra defense tightened up, and Parkland won 9-0 in game one.
Starting pitcher
Karley Yergler (5.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 10 K) pitched a five-inning no-hitter, allowing just one walk and striking out ten in her second straight complete-game shutout.
Game 2: No. 4 Parkland 7, LLCC 0
The Cobras took a 1-0 lead on a
Bri Roloff RBI single in the top of the 3rd inning, and
Ryleigh Owens (3-4, 2 RBI, R) extended it with a 2-RBI double in the top of the 4th, scoring
Jaidi Davis (1-2, R) and
Katy Hendricks (1-3, 2 R). Parkland scored two runs on an error in the 5th, and
Lizzie Stiverson (1-3, RBI, R, BB) and Roloff (3-4, 2 RBI, R) each drove in a run in the 6th to give the Cobras a 7-0 win.
Freshman
Ryleigh Owens (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 12 K) allowed just three hits in her fourth start this season, striking out 12 of the 25 batters she faced on Thursday afternoon.
