Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 3 ranked Parkland College Softball team continued its winning ways in the M-WAC conference, adding two wins over Lewis & Clark Community College on Thursday, April 27th. The Cobras (44-10) (18-0) remained undefeated in conference play, winning 7-0 and 13-2 in the team's final two home games of the regular season and securing the program's third straight M-WAC Conference title. The Parkland pitching staff looked lights-out against the Trailblazers (14-25-1), allowing just three hits while third basemen
Bri Roloff led the way at the plate with four RBI. The sweep means the Cobras finish the regular season 14-0 at home.
Parkland College co-head coaches Dan and
Kristi Paulson recognized the pedigree of the M-WAC Conference after their third consecutive conference title, saying, "We have traveled far and wide this year, and played teams from across the country, but our conference has some of the toughest competition. To come out on top is a major accomplishment for our team."
"Our ladies worked hard to accomplish this," the Paulson's continued. "This was one of our team goals, and they brought the energy and focus, night in and night out, and that is not easy to do."

Up next, the Cobras travel to No. 20 Spoon River College tomorrow, April 28th, to wrap up their regular season. The ranked doubleheader against the Snappers (37-14-1) (13-7) will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday.

Parkland quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning, as
Lizzie Stiverson lifted an RBI triple to right field and
Emma Mason knocked her in with an RBI single. Stiverson (2-2, 3B, 3 RBI, 2 R) and Mason (2-2, 2B, 3 RBI) each drove in two more runs in the 2nd to put the Cobras up 6-0. Sophomore
Zoey Clark extended the lead with a pinch-hit RBI double in the 5th, scoring
Grace Bushur.

Starting pitcher
Karley Yergler (21-7) allowed just one hit and one walk in four innings on Thursday, striking out seven batters. Freshman
Ryleigh Owens (3.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 6 K) threw three shutout innings in relief. Owens (2-3, 2B, 2 R) provided offense and defense against the Trailblazers, and the Cobras won 7-0.

The Cobras struck in the top of the 1st inning again in game two - taking the lead on a 2-RBI double from
Bri Roloff - and
Ellie Vetter (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) and
Delaney Melton (1-2, RBI) each drove in a run to put Parkland ahead 4-0. Sophomore
Jaidi Davis (2-2, RBI, 2 R, SB) kicked off a 6-run 2nd inning for the Cobras, capped by a
Maddie Reed (1-3, HR, 2 RBI) 2-run home run to make it 10-0. Parkland scored two runs on errors in the 3rd, and
Addie Wallace knocked in
Zoey Clark (1-1, R) in the 4th to extend the lead to 13. Lewis & Clark got two runs back on a homer in the top of the 5th inning, but Parkland closed out the 13-2 win.

Freshman
Ellie Vetter (11-2) earned the win in the final home regular season game, striking out nine while allowing two earned runs on two hits and five walks.
