Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team opened Mid-West Athletic Conference play with a 5-3 win over Lincoln Land Community College on Wednesday, September 13th. The Cobras (2-5) bounced back against the Loggers (0-5-2) with a four-goal first half, kicked off with a 35-yard goal from sophomore Lisa Kirwan that energized the visitors. Parkland goalkeeper Leire Rodriguez-Najera recorded five saves, and Urbana native Cassidy McQueen scored two in the win.
 
"It was nice to get the win today," Cobra head coach Dan Vogelsang commented after the game. "We were able to stick to our plan of possession and keep the pressure on."
 
"I am proud to see the team is understanding and executing our new style of play. This team has many things to be proud of with today's performance," Vogelsang added.
