Cobras Lose 5-0 to No. 6 Heartland Community College

Parkland falls to 1-1 in conference play

Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team dropped a conference game at home to No. 6 Heartland Community College on Thursday, September 21, losing 5-0. The Cobras (2-7) kept the game close in the first half, trailing the Hawks (6-0) by one at halftime, but Parkland struggled to create chances and the visitors extended their lead late. Parkland goalkeeper Leire Rodriguez-Najera made 14 saves in the loss as the Cobras fall to 1-1 in M-WAC play.
 
"Tough day today," Parkland head coach Dan Vogelsang said after the loss. "We will get back to practice tomorrow and start preparing for our game Monday."
 
Up next, the Cobras play at Waubonsee Community College on Monday, September 25. Kick-off against the Chiefs (6-3) is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
