Box Score 2 MINNEOLA, Fla. – The No. 1 Parkland College Softball team continued its winning ways at The Spring Games with wins over Cuyahoga Community College and Lake Michigan College on Friday, March 15th. The Cobras (23-3) allowed just one hit to the Triceratops (7-4) and the Red Hawks (5-5) in back-to-back 11-0 five-inning wins, outhitting their opponents 24-2 as they won their 16th consecutive game and 10th straight at The Spring Games this March. Karley Yergler (14-2) picked up her eighth win in a row and lifted three home runs on Friday, while freshman first basemen
Alisha Frederick led the Cobras with four hits.

Up next, Parkland wraps up The Spring Games tomorrow, March 16th, with games against Genesee Community College and Hawkeye Community College. First pitch against the Cougars (0-0) is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET, and first pitch versus the Red Tails (3-8) is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. ET.

Parkland powered ahead in the bottom of the 2nd inning, when Yergler opened the scoring with a solo home run, and the Cobras bat around the order before Yergler (2-2, 2 HR, 2 RBI) launched a second solo home run of the inning to put Parkland up 8-0 early.

The Cobras added to the lead in the 3rd with an RBI groundout from
Addie Wallace, and
Tori Thomas (1-1, HR, 2 RBI) lifted a pinch-hit 2-run home run in the next at bat to give them an 11-0 lead. The Triceratops broke up a no-hitter with a single in the 4th and loaded the bases in the top of the 5th, but the Cobras closed strong and held on to the 11-0 shutout win in five innings.

Alisha Frederick (1-1, 2 RBI, R, BB) tied Yergler and Thomas with 2 RBI, and third baseman
Kailee Otto (2-2, 2B, RBI, R) doubled in the win. In the circle, Yergler (3.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 5 K) did not allow a baserunner in three innings, and
Claire Black (2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 K, 3 BB) finished off the shutout in sixth appearance this season.

The Cobras struck first with a
Lizzie Stiverson RBI single in the top of the 1st inning, and the team added seven runs in the 2nd, including a solo home run from
Lexie Griffin (2-3, HR, RBI), and a 3-run blast from Yergler (1-3, HR, 3 RBI), her ninth of the year.
Alisha Frederick (3-3, 2B, 4 RBI, 3 R) lifted a 2-RBI double out to center field in the top of the 3rd, and
Emma Mason (2-3, RBI, R) drove her in with an RBI single to extend the lead to 11-0.

Ellie Vetter (7-1) pitched three hitless innings, striking out eight batters while giving up three walks before
Ryleigh Owens (2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 K) relieved her in the 4th inning and closed out an 11-0 win.
