Box Score 2 MINNEOLA, Fla. – The No. 1 Parkland College Softball team wrapped up The Spring Games with wins over Genesee Community College and Hawkeye Community College on Saturday, March 16th. The Cobras (25-3) charged past the Cougars (0-1) to win game one 23-0 before picking up an 8-0 win versus the Red Tails (3-10) to finish The Spring Games with a record of 12-0. Ryleigh Owens combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter in the win over Hawkeye CC.

"It has been an outstanding week for our team," co-head coach
Dan Paulson said Saturday. "We were clicking on all cylinders, our pitching was excellent, we were able to string hits together, and our defense played solid all week."

"We are proud of where our team is at after our three trips," Paulson continued, "Playing the first 28 games of the year out-of-state is never easy, but our players handled it well and continue to grow as players and as a team."

Up next, the Cobras begin conference play on Saturday, March 23rd, with a road doubleheader at Lewis & Clark Community College. First pitch against the Trailblazers (0-6) is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Godfrey, Illinois.

The Cobras took advantage of shaky pitching from the Cougars in the bottom of the 1st inning, taking a 6-0 lead before
Kailyn Wilson (1-2, 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R, BB) grounded a 3-RBI double to left field for their first hit of the game, and Parkland led 11-0 heading into the 2nd. Sophomore
Addie Wallace drove in
Claire Black (1-2, 2B, 2 R, BB) to open the scoring in a 7-run 2nd inning, and
Kallie Evans (2-2, 3 RBI, R, BB) scored Wallace (1-1, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB) in the 3rd to give the Cobras a 19-0 lead. The Parkland offense added four more runs in the bottom of the 4th, and the Cobras closed out the Cougars 23-0 in five innings for the win.

Claire Black (1-0) got the win in her second career start, allowing just one hit and no walks over five innings of work, striking out 10.

Karley Yergler (1-2, 2 RBI, R) and an RBI double from catcher Lexie Grifin (1-3, 2B, RBI) in the bottom of the 1st inning. Sophomore
Mia Ruder (1-2, 3B, RBI, 2 R, BB) lifted an RBI triple out to center field in the 2nd to score
Ellie Vetter (2-3, 2B, R), and the Cobras led 6-0 after an RBI double from
Lizzie Stiverson (2-3, 2 2B, 2 RBI). The shortstop lined her second RBI double of the day in the bottom of the 4th, scoring
Alisha Frederick (1-2, 2 R, BB) and
Emma Mason (1-3, 2 R) scored on a wild pitch as Parkland polished off another shutout win.
