Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 1 Parkland College Softball team added two more wins versus conference-foe Lincoln Land Community College on Friday, April 19th. The Cobras (45-3) (18-0) took down the Loggers (14-26) (9-9) by a score of 8-0 in both games to improve to 8-0 at home on the season - and extend their current winning streak to 38 straight games. Freshman infielder
Alisha Frederick (led the team with four hits on Friday, including three doubles, and starting pitchers
Ellie Vetter (16-1) and
Karley Yergler (23-2) earned wins in the doubleheader sweep.

Up next, the Cobras take on Danville Area Community College on the road tomorrow, April 20th. First pitch against the Jaguars (22-12) (9-7) is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Danville, Illinois.

The Cobras opened the scoring on a
Lizzie Stiverson RBI single in the bottom of the 1st, scoring
Alisha Frederick – and
Ryleigh Owens blasted an RBI double to left field later in the inning to extend the lead to 3-0. Frederick (2-3, 2 2B, RBI, R) kept her foot on the gas with an RBI double in the 2nd, scoring
Mia Ruder (2-3, 2 R) with her second extra-base hit of the game to give Parkland a 4-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 4th, Stiverson (2-2, 3B, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB, SB) lifted an RBI triple out to right field before scoring on an error, and back-to-back RBI hits from
Lexie Griffin (1-2, 2B, 2 RBI) and
Ryleigh Owens (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI) put the Cobras up 8-0 heading into the 5th.

Ellie Vetter (5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 7 K, 4 BB) finished off a five-inning complete game shutout in style when centerfielder
Maddie Reed caught a line drive and turned a game-ending double play, and Parkland picked up an 8-0 win in game one.

Parkland took an early lead on an attempted double steal in the bottom of the 1st inning when
Lizzie Stiverson (1-2, 2B, BB) got caught stealing second base, but
Mia Ruder (1-4, RBI, R, SB) successfully stole home to go up 1-0. The Cobras added to their lead in the bottom of the 4th as
Tori Thomas (2-3, RBI, 2 R, BB) and
Katy Hendricks scored on an error, and
Kailyn Wilson (RBI, R) scored on a ground out later in the inning to give Parkland a 4-0 lead.

Parkland loaded the bases in the bottom of the 5th and managed to drive in two runs on a sacrifice fly before Hendricks (1-2, 2 R, BB) scored her second run of the game on an error to extend the lead to 7-0, and the Cobras walked in the game-ending run in the 6th to take game two 8-0 in six innings.

Karley Yergler (5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 7 K, BB) pitched five shutout innings on Friday, allowing just three hits and one walk in her 22nd start of the year, and sophomore
