CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — October 18, 2025 —The Parkland College women's soccer team closed out its regular season with a strong second-half rally but came up just short, falling 3-4 to John Wood Community College on Sophomore Night at home.
The Blazers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half, but the Cobras stormed back with three goals after halftime to make it a thrilling finish. Kameron Lathrop, Ava Jansen, and Alyssa Wells each scored unassisted goals for Parkland in the second half, bringing the Cobras within striking distance late in the match.
Offensively, Parkland outshot John Wood 38-16, with eight shots on goal, led by Celia Barkley (8 shots) and Katie Clark (5 shots); Lauren Woods, Kameron Lathrop, and Alyssa Wells each had 4 shots each.
In goal, Grace Larson recorded 12 saves against 16 shots on frame, helping keep the Cobras in the contest through the final whistle.
The match capped off the regular season for Parkland.
