Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 1 seed Parkland College softball team won over No. 4 seed Lincoln Land Community College (20-24) on Saturday, May 3, in the first game of the Region 24 Tournament. The Cobras (35-14) advance to the championship game after defeating the Loggers 7-2 on their home field.Â

The Cobras jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the 1st inning with two sacrifice flies from
Nicole Sinks and
Lindsey Muskopf, scoring
Maddie Gourley and
Jordyn Turner. However, Lincoln Land answered in the top of the 4th with two RBI singles to tie the game at 2–2. From there, the Cobras took control, getting the 4-2 advantage in the bottom of the 4th thanks to back-to-back hits from
Maddie Gourley and
Jordyn Turner. They continued to pile on runs in the 6th, with Gourley and Turner striking again to knock in two more and get the 7-2 lead. Gourley finished with four hits and three RBI, while Turner added three hits and two RBI.Â
Mya Brown (1 BB, 4 K) got the win, throwing six innings and surrendering seven hits and two runs.
Lucy Fearday (1 BB, 1 K) threw one inning of scoreless ball in relief.Â

Up next, No. 6 seed Lewis & Clark Community College (4-29) and No. 4 seed Lincoln Land Community College will play at 11:00 am on Sunday, May 4. The winner will advance to the championship game of the Region 24 Tournament on Sunday, May 4, at 2:00 pm against the Cobras.Â
