No. 16 Cobras Open 2026 Season at Northwest Florida Round Robin

Parkland gains early momentum against nationally competitive field

NICEVILLE, Fla.—January 24, 2026— The Parkland College softball team opened its 2026 season over the weekend at the Northwest Florida Round Robin. Facing the host Raiders and Polk State College, the No. 16 Cobras wrapped up the opening weekend with a 1–3 overall record.

Friday's action featured a doubleheader for Parkland, beginning with a 1–9 loss to Northwest Florida State College. The Cobras then battled Polk State College in a tightly contested matchup but ultimately came up short in a narrow 5–6 defeat.

Parkland bounced back on Saturday afternoon with a strong rematch performance against Polk State College, earning a 4–3 victory to notch its first win of the season. The weekend concluded with an 0–8 loss to Northwest Florida State College in the final rematch of the tournament.

The Cobras now turn their focus ahead to the Brunson Junior College (JUCO) Jam, set for February 14–15 in Branson, Missouri, as Parkland continues to build momentum early in the season.
