CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Parkland College Athletics has named Grant Chamberlain and Stacie Vonderheide as its December Athletes of the Month, recognizing their impact performances during a pivotal stretch of the season.
Chamberlain, a sophomore men's basketball player from Orlando, Florida, was a steady presence in the Cobras' lineup throughout December. He started every game, helping guide Parkland to a perfect 5-0 record during the month. A high-flyer known for his physicality and effort on the glass, Chamberlain currently ranks fifth nationally in defensive rebounds, providing key possessions and defensive stability for the Cobras.
On the women's side, Vonderheide continued to establish herself as one of the most efficient scorers in the country. The sophomore from Effingham, Illinois, ranks ninth nationally in field goal percentage and seventh in points averaged per 40 minutes, showcasing her ability to score at a high level while maximizing every opportunity on the floor.
Chamberlain and Vonderheide's December performances exemplify the discipline, consistency, and competitive excellence that define Parkland College Athletics.
