RAYMOND, Miss.—February 19, 2026— The No. 16 Parkland College softball team earned a split on Thursday in a two-game set against Hinds Community College as part of its Mississippi road swing. After dropping the opener 2–4, the Cobras responded with a 6–4 victory in Game Two. 

Game 1:  Parkland 2, Hinds Community College 4

Parkland collected 8 hits in the opener but could not overcome an early four-run first inning from Hinds, falling 4–2.

Lainey Klokkenga paced the offense with 2 hits, including a double. Lucy Fearday and Nicole Sinks each drove in a run, while Maddie Gourley added 2 hits at the top of the lineup.

Fearday went the distance in the circle, tossing 6 innings with 5 strikeouts while allowing 5 hits; 3 of the 4 runs were earned.

Game 2: Parkland 6, Hinds Community College 4

The Cobras answered in the nightcap, scoring in 4 different innings and finishing with 11 hits to secure the 6–4 win.

Lindsey Muskopf and Klokkenga each recorded 2 hits and scored twice. Fearday drove in 2 runs, while Nicole Sinks added 2 RBIs of her own. Abbey Horeis also contributed an RBI, and Parkland's offense applied steady pressure throughout the contest.

In the circle, Klokkenga started and worked 3.2 innings before Lindy Bates closed the door with 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. The Cobras allowed just 1earned run in the game despite Hinds scoring 4.

With the split, Parkland improves to 5–4 overall as the Cobras continue their three-city Mississippi tour.

Up next, Parkland travels to Meridian to face Meridian Community College on February 20 in another two-game set .
