Box Score 4 MERIDIAN/GOODMAN, Miss.—February 21, 2026— The No. 16 Parkland College softball team closed out its four-game Mississippi road stretch with resilience, dropping two tight contests to Meridian Community College before responding with a pair of convincing wins over Holmes Community College. The Cobras now stand at 8–6 on the season.
Game 1: Parkland 2, Meridian Community College 7
Parkland collected 8 hits in the opener but could not overcome a four-run fourth inning in a 2–7 loss.
Lindsey Muskopf led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Maddie Gourley added a hit and a run. Lainey Klokkenga, Lucy Fearday, and Nicole Sinks each recorded doubles, with Fearday and Sinks driving in Parkland's 2 runs.
Fearday started in the circle, throwing 4 innings with a strikeout before Saige Althoff provided 2 scoreless innings of relief.
Game 2: Parkland, 6 Meridian Community College 7
The nightcap was a tight battle throughout, with Parkland finishing with 9 hits but falling just short, 6–7.
Nicole Sinks powered the offense with a 3-for-3 performance, including a home run and a double. Lindsey Muskopf added a double and an RBI, while Lucy Fearday drove in a run. Klokkenga contributed 2 hits and scored once.
Klokkenga went 6.1 innings in the circle, allowing just 2 earned runs while striking out 3 in a strong outing despite the narrow defeat.
Game 3: No. 16 Parkland 7, Holmes Community College 1
The Cobras rebounded in dominant fashion in the opener against Holmes, recording 10 hits in a 7–1 victory.
Maddie Gourley went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored, while Nicole Sinks drove in 3 runs. Klokkenga added 2 RBIs, and Abbey Horeis contributed an RBI in the balanced offensive effort.
Lucy Fearday delivered a complete-game performance in the circle, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 3.
Game 4: No. 16 Parkland 7, Holmes Community College 2
Parkland carried the momentum into the finale, securing another 7–2 win to earn the split on the four-game stretch.
Abbey Horeis led the charge with a home run and 3 RBIs. Klokkenga and Muskopf each drove in 2 runs, and the Cobras totaled 9 hits in the contest.
Klokkenga threw a complete game, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits to seal the series sweep over Holmes.
Up next, the Cobras return to Brunson, Missouri, for the Brunson Grand Slam Classic, where they will face a loaded field that includes the No. 1, No. 8, and No. 18 ranked teams in the nation — setting up one of the biggest early-season tests on their schedule.
