No. 17 Cobras Sweep Four-Game Weekend, Surge Above .500

Parkland powers past Danville and John Wood with explosive offense, improves to 15–14

QUINCY, Ill.—March 22, 2026—The No. 17 Parkland College softball team put together a dominant weekend, sweeping four games across back-to-back doubleheaders against Danville Area Community College and John Wood Community College. With the undefeated stretch, the Cobras improve to 15–14 on the season.

Saturday: vs. Danville Area Community College

Game 1: Parkland 6, Danville Area Community College 3

Parkland opened its home slate with a 6–3 victory, using timely hitting and steady pitching to secure the win.

Nicole Sinks led the offense, going 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Ava Acton added 2 RBIs, while Lindsey Muskopf and Lainey Klokkenga each recorded hits and runs scored. Ellie Lowe also contributed an RBI in the balanced effort.

In the circle, Lucy Fearday tossed a complete game, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits while striking out 2.

Game 2: Parkland 8, Danville Area Community College 5

The Cobras carried that momentum into the second game, exploding for 8 runs on 13 hits to complete the sweep.

Abbey Horeis delivered a standout performance, going 3-for-3 with 2RBIs. Camille Wines added 2 hits and 2 RBIs, while Nicole Sinks and Lindsey Muskopf each scored twice. Parkland's offense saw contributions throughout the lineup, with 6 different players driving in runs.

Klokkenga started in the circle, and Fearday provided relief as the Cobras held off a late push from Danville.

Sunday: at John Wood Community College

Game 1: Parkland 12, John Wood Community College 3 (5 innings)

Parkland's offense stayed hot on Sunday, erupting for 12 runs in a run-rule victory over John Wood.

The Cobras put the game out of reach early, continuing their aggressive approach at the plate and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.

Game 2: Parkland 11, John Wood Community College 8

In the weekend finale, Parkland completed the four-game sweep with an 11–8 win in a high-scoring contest.

The Cobras once again relied on consistent offense, scoring in multiple innings to outlast John Wood and secure their fourth straight victory.

With the four-game sweep, Parkland improves to 15–14 overall and continues to build momentum heading into the heart of the season.

Up next, the Cobras return home to host Kankakee Community College in a doubleheader on March 25.
