Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—March 25, 2026—The No. 17 Parkland College softball team extended its strong stretch of play on Thursday afternoon, sweeping a home doubleheader against Kankakee Community College. The Cobras powered past the Cavaliers in Game One, 9–1, before securing the sweep with a 6–4 victory in Game Two. With the wins, Parkland improves to 17–14 on the season.
Game 1: Parkland 9, Kankakee Community College 1
Parkland's offense erupted in the opener, tallying 14 hits and 4 home runs in a dominant 9–1 victory.
Lainey Klokkenga led the charge, going 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored and 2 home runs. Lindsey Muskopf added a home run and 2 RBIs, while Ellie Lowe also went deep and drove in 2 runs.
Ava Acton contributed a strong all-around performance, finishing 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a double, while Nicole Sinks reached base twice with 2 walks.
In the circle, Lucy Fearday delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 6.
Game 2: Parkland 6, Kankakee Community College 4
The Cobras completed the sweep in the second game, using timely hitting and steady pitching to secure the 6–4 win.
Parkland built an early lead and held off a late push from Kankakee to finish the day undefeated, continuing their momentum from the previous weekend.
