No. 21 Cobras Split Final Day of Branson Grand Slam Classic

Parkland knocks off No. 13 Johnson County

BRANSON, Mo.—March 6, 2026—The No. 21 Parkland College softball team closed out play at the Branson Grand Slam Classic with a split on Friday afternoon. The Cobras opened the day with a 4–1 victory over No. 13 Johnson County Community College before dropping a 1–5 decision to Cowley County Community College in a seven-inning contest. With the results, Parkland moves to 10–8 on the season.

Game 1: Parkland 4, Johnson County Community College 1

Parkland delivered a strong all-around performance to defeat No. 13 Johnson County, scoring four runs on four hits while holding the Cavaliers to just one run.

The Cobras broke through in the second inning with three runs before adding another in the third to take control early. Johnson County scored its lone run in the fourth, but Parkland's defense and pitching held firm the rest of the way.

Game 2: Parkland 1, Cowley County Community College 5

In the tournament finale, Parkland battled throughout but was unable to overcome Cowley's offensive production as the Tigers secured the win to close out the tournament.

With the split, the Cobras finish the Branson Grand Slam Classic with valuable experience against nationally ranked competition.

Up next, Parkland returns home to host College of Lake County in a doubleheader on March 11.
