No. 16 Cobras Split Weekend Slate, Dominate Saturday Before Falling in Road Twinbill

Parkland run-rules Lewis & Clark in back-to-back games before dropping two tight contests at DACC

DANVILLE, Ill.—April 11, 2026—The No. 16 Parkland College softball team showcased both dominance and resilience over the weekend, sweeping a home doubleheader on Saturday before dropping a pair of close games on the road Sunday. The Cobras defeated Lewis & Clark Community College twice (13–3, 12–3) before falling to Danville Area Community College (6–7, 8–10), moving to 25–16 on the season.

Parkland's offense exploded at home, outscoring Lewis & Clark 25–6 across two run-rule victories.

In Game One, the Cobras broke things open with a six-run third inning, finishing with 13 runs on 13 hits. In Game Two, Parkland stayed hot, plating 12 runs in just 5 innings, highlighted by a six-run second inning that set the tone early.

The Cobras combined for 25 runs and 23 hits in the doubleheader, showcasing depth throughout the lineup and consistent production at the plate.

Parkland carried its offensive momentum into Sunday but came up just short in 2 tightly contested games at Danville.

In Game One, the Cobras jumped out early with 4 runs in the second inning but were unable to hold off a late push from the Jaguars in a 6–7 loss.

Game Two saw another strong offensive effort, as Parkland totaled 8 runs, including a three-run first inning. Despite the fast start, DACC responded and pulled away late to complete the sweep.

Across the two games, Parkland combined for 14 runs and 14 hits but was unable to overcome Danville's timely hitting.

With the split weekend, Parkland now sits at 25–16 overall.

Up next, the Cobras will return home to host a doubleheader against John Wood Community College on April 18. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM CST.
