Box Score 2 NORMAL, Ill.—April 17, 2026—The No. 16 Parkland College softball team delivered a dominant performance on Sunday, sweeping Heartland Community College in a doubleheader with convincing run-rule wins, 23–10 (5 innings) and 10–0 (6 innings). With the sweep, the Cobras improve to 29–16 on the season.
Game 1: Parkland 23, Heartland 10 (5 innings)
Parkland's offense came out firing and never let up, plating 23 runs on 15 hits in a five-inning rout.
Kaitlyn Helms led the charge with a huge day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Lainey Klokkenga matched the production with 3 hits and 5 RBIs, while Linndsey Muskopf added 2 hits, 4 runs, and an RBI.
Ellie Lowe contributed 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and multiple Cobras chipped in offensively as Parkland recorded 10 different players scoring runs.
Parkland totaled 19 RBIs in the game, capitalizing on timely hitting and aggressive baserunning to overwhelm Heartland early.
Game 2: Parkland 10, Heartland 0 (6 innings)
The Cobras carried that momentum into Game Two, combining explosive offense with dominant pitching to secure the sweep.
Parkland scored 10 runs on 13 hits, with Nicole Sinks leading the way with 3 RBIs, including 2 home runs. Lainey Klokkenga and Lindsey Muskopf each added multiple hits and RBIs, while Kaitlyn Helms and Ava Acton also contributed offensively.
In the circle, Klokkenga was outstanding, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just 2 hits over six innings.
Up next, the Cobras will travel to East Peoria, Illinois to face Illinois Central College on April 21. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM CST.
