Box Score 2 EAST PEORIA, Ill.—April 21, 2026—The No. 16 Parkland College softball team secured an impressive road sweep over No. 19 Illinois Central College on Tuesday, winning 9–4 and 6–3. With the two victories, the Cobras improve to 31–16 on the season.
Game 1: Parkland 9, Illinois Central 4
Parkland used a strong middle innings surge to pull away and take the opener.
Lindsey Muskopf led the offense with 3 hits, 3runs scored, and 2 RBIs. Ava Acton added 2 hits and 2 RBIs, while Nicole Sinks and Ellie Lowe each drove in a run. Ava Simpson also contributed 2 RBIs in the win.
The Cobras tallied 10 hits in the game, capitalizing on timely hitting to build separation late.
In the circle, Lainey Klokkenga and Lucy Fearday combined for a solid outing, limiting Illinois Central to 4 runs while working through key moments to secure the win.
Game 2: No. 16 Parkland 6, No. 19 Illinois Central 3
Parkland completed the sweep with another balanced performance in Game Two.
Muskopf continued her strong day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs. Nicole Sinks and Abbey Horeis each added RBIs, while Ava Simpson also drove in a run to help power the offense.
The Cobras recorded 8 hits in the game and executed well in key situations to maintain control throughout.
Fearday delivered a strong start in the circle, tossing 6 innings while allowing 3 runs and striking out 4. Klokkenga came in to close the game and secure the sweep.
Up next, the Cobras will return home to host Lincoln Land Community College on April 25.
