No.7 Cobras Split Final Day of Owens Invitational

Parkland goes 1-1 on Saturday

Perrysburg, OH -- August 29, 2026 -- No. 7 Parkland volleyball closed out the Owens Invitational with a double header split on Saturday, falling to Mott Community College in five sets before bouncing back to beat Lansing Community College in three sets to close out the tournament.

Game 1: Parkland 2, Mott College 3 (25-15, 17-25, 25-20, 19-25, 8-15)
The Cobras started out Saturday with a tough test against undefeated Mott Community College in what would be a close battle from start to finish. Despite the Cobras taking the first and third sets to build a 2-1 lead, the Bears would respond to take the win in five sets to hand Parkland its first loss of the season. Alanya Briggs led the attack with 15 kills while Reis McFarland finished with 14 to go along with her 14 digs. Chloe Eeten would finish with 37 assists while Khloe Stear led the defense with 23 digs, with Brogan Anderson and Eeten adding 11 digs each. With the loss, the Cobras fall to 9-1 while Mott improves to 12-0.

Game 2: Parkland 3, Lansing 0 (25-6, 25-11, 25-12)
In the final match of the weekend, the Cobras bounced back to beat Lansing Community College 3-0 to close out the Owens invitational on a high note. Briggs led the attack once again finishing with 14 kills. Eeten paced the offense again with 24 assists and Stear led the back row with 19 digs while Briggs and Stivers added another 7 digs each as the Cobras finished the match hitting .273 and shutting down the Lansing offense. With the win the Cobras improve to 10-1 while Lansing drops to 2-5.
