Women's Soccer Drops Weekend Road Match at Lincoln Land

Cobras fall to Loggers 0-4 on Saturday

Springfield, Il -- September 12, 2026 -- The Parkland women's soccer team fell on the road at Lincoln Land College on Saturday 4-0 in Springfield. A heavy offensive attack would give Lincoln Land the advantage early as the Loggers found the net in the 11th minute before adding to the lead in the 33rd minute to close out the first half with a 2-0 advantage. The Loggers would netted two more goals in the second half to seal the match. Parkland finished with eight shots with seven on frame, showing some offensive efficiency. And goalkeeper Chloe Pluger would finish with 11 saves at the net.

Head coach Chase Bourgasser highlighted the team's effort despite a tough loss:

"No real dent on the game from us. Chloe saw a barrage of shots and came out with 11 saves. We managed to get a few looks but nothing that threatened the GK. Credit to LLCC, they were better organized and gave us fits in the midfield. They executed their game plan and interrupted ours. They gave us a lot of information to look at for our next meeting at home on the 26th. Both Sophia and I are looking forward to the girls response as we come out of this one. Ava Jansel had a couple of shots from FKs, but we never fully materialized a threatening play."

With the loss, the Cobras drop to 1-3 on the season while the Loggers improve to 2-3-1.
