Robinson, Il -- September 15, 2026 -- The Parkland women's soccer team picked up their second win of the season with a 2-0 victory at Lincoln Trail College on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half, the Cobras found momentum through a goal by Ava Jansen to take a 1-0 lead. Alyssa Wells added a goal of her own off an assist from Lucy Rutledge to seal the win for Parkland. As a team, the Cobras finished with 8 shots on goal, and Chloe Pluger finished with three saves to keep the Statesmen out of the net. The Cobras improve to 2-3 on the season with the win.

Head coach Chase Bourgasser praised the team's overall performance this afternoon:

"Credit to Ava for the goal and to Kam who drew the foul. Kam was asked to step into the midfield today and did phenomenal. Ava found her mantra and as soon as she took her breath I knew she was going to put it on frame. Alyssa drove the dagger home with a killer low shot and the assistant from Lucy. Both were all over the place today and helped keep us in charge of the game. It isn't a surprise that these two connected to find the back of the goal. Another clean sheet for our defense and GK. Chloe, who ended with 3 huge saves including a massive punch to save and incredible shot when the score was still 0-0. She wasn't tested often, but when she was she came up with the answers. Absolute dime of a performance by the defense."
